With glass in hand, life is good.

All of us here hope to make the wines you already enjoy even better. If that is possible.

Thank you, enjoy.

Food and Wine For Dummies

Hello and welcome to Food and Wine for Dummies.

Let me first say that I am no Robert Parker, Jr. when it comes to wine. Don't get me wrong, I love wine. All types, from light and refreshing whites to the biggest, boldest California Cabernet's out there. I am just not an expert, self-appointed or otherwise - at least not yet. But I love learning.

Luckily for me I know some people who are, and I will be culling from their experience. Then filtering it to common English. They just don't know it yet, so don't tell them.

And then there is my Lovely Wife™, she of enormous talent, beauty and patience - plus an excellent taste in wine (and men). She too will be contributing to everyone's enjoyment.

We will start out simple, and keep it that way. It is to be understood that some people only like white wines and some only like red wines. The key word in the previous sentence being 'like'. This site will not tell you what you should like, but perhaps what you might enjoy with a particular food, be it a snack, appetizer, entrée, or dessert. Not to mention all the cheese, meats and pâté's that are available, or as they say in France, Fromage et Chartucerie!

Shall we get started?

Added by request are a series of pages identifying the most common grapes, the wines made from those grapes, and some food suggestions. Think of them as reference pages. We hope you find something you like. Click the Grapes Defined link on the left to get started. Or just click right here.
